Here’s How We’ll Work Together

• Prework: You’ll fill out my nifty lil survey and let me know where you’re getting stuck, and what kind of involvement you need/are hoping for from me.

• We’ll meet once a week for either 3 or 6 weeks. Each VIP writing day will be 6 hours long, with a break in the middle so our brains don’t melt.

• We’ll get on a zoom call, where we work on timed, structured brainstorming exercises to help get things moving, interspersed with some focused writing time.

• During exercise writing hours, we’ll take about 5 minutes to set up the exercise, and then we’ll work through timed exercises between 10-40 minutes. You’ll write, I’ll write, and at the end of the exercises, we’ll recap your work together and walk through what’s working and what’s not clicking, and use that to inform focus sessions. (This might look a little different depending on your needs - we’ll set a clear outline of what to expect before we get started.)

• At the start of every focus writing hour, we’ll take a max of 5 minutes to set small, achievable goals, and at the end of every hour we’ll check in and see how things are going. No guilt tripping here! Just lovingly tough accountability, and a boatload of excitement to get your magic working! I’ll keep notes from each day so you can look back and see what you’ve accomplished.

• Wrap up call: At the end of our 3-6 week trek, we’ll have put in between 9-18 hours of focused work. We’ll spend 30 minutes going over a summary of the exercises and goals from the last several weeks, and identify any patterns (ie; freewriting scenes that will literally never be in the book but touch on the magic systems totally gets you in the zone for the actual book work, but you literally cannot deal with magical exposition.) Cool! Let’s plan for it. I’ll share a plan for moving forward so that you can continue with confidence!
